Nearly as good as a hug …

Hi there

It's over a week since we launched our new vintage 20 yarn in its natural colour. We’re ready to launch our 4-colour palette! Choosing these colours has been the most nerve wrecking part of our wool journey so far. But also the most fun! And now we’re looking at it everything seems VERY real!!

So let me introduce you, our wonderful subscribers, to vintage 20 in colour!

All colours are available in DK [4/9 Nm] and 4 ply[2/9Nm] weights. And because the natural yarn is a lovely soft oatmeal coloured base – the dyed colours have a very warm tone.

First out of the decanter is Shepherd’s Delight! It’s a heart warming red-orange. Inspired by the spectacular sunsets we often see from our island Woolery on the Thames. It's our virtual hug to you!

Next to make an entrance is Lazy Hazy, a mustard yellow version of this years’ Pantone colour of the year. Reminiscent of a slow start to the day on our island. With the early morning sun beginning to shine through low hazy clouds. This is my favourite time of day to get the kayak out and paddle slowly and silently round our island. Those days are coming!

The third colour in the vintage 20 palette is Silver Ripple. This silver-grey colour reminds us of lights at night - shimmering across the river. Somehow comforting to see – and sending you kind thoughts as I write this.

And our final drop is Midnight Lagoon. Think warm Summer nights. The inky midnight sky meets our sleepy island lagoon – midnight on our oasis! And the day is complete.

That’s it – our first colour palette. vintage 20, our 100% British blend yarn. Soft to touch, silky to knit and luxurious to wear – we could not be more proud!

Having said all this – we’re still very nervous about how you’ll feel about the colours. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the yarn, the colours, your knitting, …….. anything at all!!!

Knitting Challenges

By the way, my own knitting has taken a bit of a back seat whilst we’ve been busy with the launch of the vintage 20 range. I’ve been swatching like crazy with the new yarn – learning lots of new stitches from a knitting book! I can confirm that just because you create a unique yarn – you do not become an expert knitter!! I’m challenging myself to use our yarn in different ways, bringing out the best in it, to be able to show you what it can do.

That’s what we’ll talk about in more detail next time.

In the meantime – have a look on the website at the yarn, natural and colours, and do get in touch with your thoughts.

Talk soon

Linda
