Hinterlands Shawl Kit - 4ply

Our latest version of Helen’s Hinterlands Shawl was knitted using vintage 23 4ply, a unique blend of fibres from Polwarth, Romney and Black Shetland sheep. Resulting in our signature soft, airy fabric with excellent stitch definition – an elusive combination of softness with well-defined texture.

Each kit contains a printed version of the pattern. On receipt of your order, we will also email you a unique code that can be redeemed on Ravelry.

“I’m super delighted with my finished Hinterlands Shawl.  Helen’s pattern is ingenious – it looks so complex but it’s not.  You know how I love it when designers do that! What a glorious mix of textures and stitch patterns.  It was an absorbing project, and I had to pay attention to what I was doing.  I didn’t make tassels for my shawl but there is enough yarn in this bundle for you to make them if you choose.

I knitted my project using the recommended needles - 4mm(US 6), 100cm(40”) long circular needles.  Our vintage 23 4ply weight yarn is finer than the yarn used in the pattern, so I knew I would be producing a slightly smaller shawl. 130cm diameter across the top edge and 66cm neck to bottom edge, and you can see from the images that it is a generous size.
